Receive Text UpdatesHaving two art degrees and loving art for my entire life means that I have been exposed to many different types of art styles, mediums, and subject matters. I find joy in all of them, but I love creating both drawings and paintings of animals. My drawings start as graphite images with full shading and gradient development and then they transition into colored pencil using baby oil as my vehicle for breaking down the components of the colored pencil and making it look more like a painting.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration comes from nature and the subject matters that I love to interact with and explore. I have a deep appreciation for all types of wildlife as well as nature scenes. There is so much character and color found in our natural surroundings. I like to focus on texture, movement, mood and expression. I create this and capture it with the use of textual experimentation, line quality and rhythm. The eyes are my focal point and where I develop a sense of character for the subject matter.
What would you do with $25,000?With 25,000 I would donate a portion of the funds back to organizations that support animals and people in need. I would give a portion of it to my children to further their education. Lastly I would hope to open up my own studio. I could teach classes and house upcoming artists in my gallery space. It has been a dream of mine for a very long time.
