When making art it's the only time I can express myself unapologetically. I can feel whatever I need to feel without worrying about judgment

I like to make art with deeply saturated color. I'm moved by flowers with intense color and I use intense color alongside the graceful lines and sharp edges for expression. I adore drawing figures from life with a model and I create my own botanical species using elements of flowers I've studied. I put the elements of those flowers together in a way that expresses my emotions in the moment by using color, line, and texture.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in nature, my emotions, and entering into the deep flow state that I reach when working. I'm inspired by the colors and sculpture of Mardi Gras floats, the leaves on trees, and the possibility that lies in the texture of a piece of heavy watercolor paper. Flowers are where I find my deepest inspiration. I want to share their striking beauty and intense color with the viewer so they experience the same magic I do when I look at flowers up close.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I would invest a portion in an IRA and I would buy lots of delicious art materials I want to try as well as replenish some of my more expensive art supplies. I'd also like to take a 3 day "art weekend" in NYC with my husband and son to enjoy art galleries and museums. While there I would take my son to the NYC LEGO store and let him have a lot of fun picking sets he is inspired to make. Anything left over would go toward bills and home repairs to ease my husband's mind for a little.
