Although I'm creative in a variety of ways, my main work is painting large textured acrylic paintings on canvas. I frame them myself.

In my late teens I started stretching large canvas over boards that I’d staple and gesso myself. I tried oil paints for a while, but I love acrylic paint so much more because it gives me the ability to quickly go back to something I’m working on. I love anything that gives my art lift and dimension like spackling, tile adhesive, etc. I love whatever gives me the opportunity to use not only my brushes, but my fingers to join with the paint!
Where do you find inspiration?Honestly, when I’m watching a movie or a TV show and I see something in the background, I screenshot it! Maybe it’s the mood of the film that evokes a certain emotion at the time. I have a large garden and woods behind my home, so nature is always in my heart as well.
What would you do with $25,000?My son only completed one semester of college—that would be my first goal. If there was anything else for me, I’d make a dedicated art studio in my yard so I could get out of the basement! And be with nature!
