I love to create large-scale abstract paintings that explore transformation—threshold stages where old identities dissolve, and something new begins. I also love to work with animal anatomy, human figures and mythological archetypes that build stories and constructs about identity. Currently I’m working on a series of Fire Horse paintings for 2026… which are intended to confront directly identity and our own self-imposed limitations.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in working with horses, riding the desert alone for hours on horseback, and the inner landscapes we are accustomed to avoiding but came to this life in order to move through. I’ve found a lot of inspiration through jungian architectures of psychology and identity, and defined much my own spirituality within that container, using my art practice to express it visually. I hope it sparks similar searchings in others.
What would you do with $25,000?My studio is dire need of some lighting upgrades, but outside of pure practicality, 25k would go a long way in helping me create and document a new series exploring transformation, while building a platform that connects people to the work through story, and hopefully, shared experiences that all of us can relate to.
