I’ve fought bipolar disorder since I was 10. Abstract pour art is the first thing that ever made the chaos in my mind feel beautiful.

In 2019 Abstract pour art found me when nothing else could. I’ve battled bipolar disorder since I was a kid, and my mind has never been quiet. When I pour paint on a canvas and watch it move, blend, and find its own path. I finally feel understood. No rules. No straight lines. Just raw emotion becoming something visible. Abstract art doesn’t just reflect who I am, it reflects my soul on all the days. Messy but beautiful.
Where do you find inspiration?I didn’t choose abstract art it chose me. Living with bipolar disorder my whole life, my mind has never moved in straight lines. When I’m in a funk and the weight gets too heavy, I grab a canvas. I pour the confusion, the sadness, the restlessness onto it, and something shifts. I can breathe again. My best pieces were made on my worst days. Abstract art is the only place where being wired the way I am feels like my win.
What would you do with $25,000?Bipolar disorder has made holding a job nearly impossible for me. This money would mean stability, supplies to keep creating, and the chance to finally see the world’s greatest abstract art in museums, and the masterpieces that inspired a movement. For someone who rarely gets out that kind of inspiration would be life changing. New scenery feeds the soul and sparks creativity in ways nothing else can. This isn’t just prize money. It’s a door finally opening.
