I create art because it lets me use my experience and my heritage as someone who grew up between worlds as a bridge to imagine new futures.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to create textile, illustrations, graphics/digital, video, music arts.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the experiences that shape the people around me. From my family members, to my friends, to the strangers i encounter. The act of noticing and present in other people’s stories shape me to the inspiration of creation. Through which shaped me to transmute this information around me into democratic way to relate to ourselves. It’s an act of love and sacrifice for everyone.
What would you do with $25,000?I would set up an upcycling system to solve the textile waste problem in my vicinity. Ideally in my home country of Ghana. I would also love to use it as an opportunity to create a studio/workshop where every part of the textile waste recycling/upcycling becomes an opportunity for education and self sovereignty. To work with individuals who are inspired to use their talents to make a substantial change in the world through creativity!
