I love to make art using mixed media to explore the juxtapositional dance between the third dimension and higher states of consciousness!

I love creating art using earthen, textured plaster to represent the natural world, synthetic materials such as epoxy resin to symbolize the challenges of navigating the man-made systems in our worldly existence and celestial products like gold leaf to reflect the role of our our spiritual lives. I very much enjoy making art that invites the viewer to feel for themselves what it means to find balance and harmony in an ever changing physical, yet sacred reality: bridging heaven and earth.
Where do you find inspiration?I derive inspiration from hiking in the wilderness and traveling to natural and exotic locations to absorb the grandeur of earths organic splendor, textures and colors. Meditation offers me the opportunity to find creative motivation by delving deep into my connection with the Divine. I meditate every day as a personal spiritual practice that grounds, centers and opens me up on all levels to remain receptive to visions and catalysts that keep me open to new creative ideas.
What would you do with $25,000?Earning money as an artist is extremely difficult and I have incurred credit card debt making art full-time. The first thing I would do would be to pay off said debt. The second thing I would do would be to begin a new body of work in celebration of winning the prize money. And thirdly, I would donate the rest of the money to the Youth Arts Council of Monterey, CA. The YAC makes it possible for the youth of Monterey to create art and participate in youth art shows.
