Art is my vehicle. But I don’t drive. God drives.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I don’t have a favorite type of art. My mediums are music, drawing, painting, writing & photography. I have found that the strengths of each medium are defined by their inherent limitations. I enter this contest as a street photographer. While I use both film and digital, I prefer analogue. Mainly because (like hours in a day) a roll of film has a finite number of frames. This forces me to be judicious when choosing a subject. I use prime lenses, manual focus & available light.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration is everywhere, truly. I find it in the world, in myself and in great compositions — music, sculpture, paintings, poems & people. The following photographers inspire me: Fan Ho, Richard Learoyd, André Kertész, Vivian Maier, Diane Arbus, Sebastião Salgado, Arnold Newman, James Nachtwey, Elliott Erwitt, Ferdinando Scianna, Richard Avedon, Cindy Sherman & Cartier-Bresson.
What would you do with $25,000?Fly my family nucleus to a nuke-less country. Continue my peaceful quiet work there.
