Creation brings something something new into the world. Something that otherwise wouldn't have existed.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Art for me is a passionate, and in many ways, needed act. Because of that I often find myself making work of many different kinds, exploring painting, sculpture, and photography. My favorite area of exploration right now is assemblage sculpture, where found objects and work forms come together to capture a surreal vision of experience.
Where do you find inspiration? My work is driven by a search for meaning within spiritual and human experience. I’m inspired by the tension between belief and doubt, and the quiet, often abstract ways we try to connect with something beyond ourselves. Through painting and sculpture, I build layered, symbolic forms that feel both familiar and elusive—inviting reflection, questioning, and a sense of the unseen within the everyday.
What would you do with $25,000?It's an odd question to ask, "what would you spend money on?" Given that for the majority of artists the answer is the same, "to survive". In my case this answer holds true even more. Over the past few years I was injured and now have a permanent disability affecting my legs and spine. I struggle financially, so when I say I would this money to survive, I mean it to the very essence of the word.
