I love creating art because I learn by making. Working with my hands, experimenting, and solving problems keeps me curious.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is interactive, kinetic sculpture. I’m especially drawn to work that uses movement and simple mechanisms, like pulleys, motors, or sensors, to bring subtle, human-like gestures to life. I often focus on small, familiar movements, such as a glance, a shift in posture, or the act of listening, and translate them into sculptural forms.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m inspired by everyday interactions. Both my own and those of people close to me. The subtle gestures, emotions, and dynamics that shape how we connect and communicate.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to expand the scale and ambition of my work. It would allow me to create larger, more complex kinetic sculptures and work in materials like bronze. I would also invest in tools and equipment to support more refined fabrication. Additionally, I would travel to museums and exhibitions to research, gain inspiration, and connect with broader artistic communities.
