I create art to bring children joy, to unite us all under one umbrella of love, and to work through my own complex emotions.

I love to create art with pastels. I love using my fingers and mixing the colors together and see what transforms. It’s a really magical experience.
Where do you find inspiration? Most of the time it is my children who inspire me. They are so observant and see things in a unique and special way. For example, my oldest said our cat’s eyes were like surf boards. And when it rained hard on the concrete, she exclaimed, “Look mom, butterflies!” Their beautiful insight blows my mind. Also, getting outside and observing nature feeds my soul because I feel connected. Which, in turn, gives me space to truly explore my thoughts and feelings, in turn igniting my creativity.
What would you do with $25,000?I would be able to do the hard things that I need to do for my family. I would also donate to childhood cancer research, as it’s been near and dear to my heart ever since my friend’s little girl passed away from Rhabdomyosarcoma.
