I love that my work turns my perspective, and imagination into something people can visually connect with.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
For me, the most rewarding art is the kind that creates a genuine emotional or psychological connection with the viewer. I’m drawn to creating art that captures attention at first glance but reveals deeper meaning the longer someone looks at it. The kind of art that engages the viewer and forces them to spend more time with it than they planned on. I love to blend naturally occurring subject matter such as birds, people, or flowers with inorganic and contrasting backgrounds
Where do you find inspiration? My mind is blown by sacred geometry and the reoccurring geometric patterns that are the very building blocks of everything. Being in nature inspires me the most. People are my favorite subject matter and the human form is my favorite thing to draw or paint which stems from my love of comic books and my studies in Collage as a figure drawer. Flowers and birds are both subjects that frequently find their way on my canvas and outer space and the ocean inspire me as well.
What would you do with $25,000?Winning $25,000 would help me secure a dedicated studio space where I can fully focus on creating several new series of new paintings that I have planned for this year. Living on the coast of central California is as expensive as it is inspiring and lack of money and a stable environment is the reason that I can't create constantly like I should and could be doing. I would use that money to explode my production of new work, establish my brand, and ignite my presence within the art community!!
