Hello my name is Jhonaikel I’m from Venezuela and I create art to understand human ways of living and to have more concise and harmony
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
“My favorite form of art emerges through acrylic and oil, where impressionism blends with realism to create breathing atmospheres. I paint to reveal deep emotions, allowing light and shadow to speak of transformation, memory, and the cycles of life. Each image becomes an intimate echo of what changes, blossoms, and endures.”
Where do you find inspiration?“I find inspiration in my own experiences and in the sensitivity shaped by my travels. I have seen pain in people, lost eyes on paths without direction, fear and frustration in lives that feel hollow. Journeying through many countries made me more aware of our shared fragility. Yet I also find light in simple moments: music at sunset, fresh air, the delicate flight of a butterfly.”
What would you do with $25,000?“With 25,000 dollars I would invest in my artistic studies and in the materials I need to continue developing my work. I would allocate 5,000 dollars to a personal project in which I visit hospitals and nursing homes to paint alongside people, bringing them closer to art and reminding them how beautiful it is to dream with a brush in their hand.”
