One of the reasons I love my job teaching art is the variety of materials and approaches to different types of art. Personally, I create as the mood moves me, shifting between mural painting, collage work, pottery, photography, fiber media, etc. My creative spirit also flows into my daily life through creating gifts for friends, cooking, and quirky designs.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my students and their enthusiasm for creating art. I find inspiration in the simple things... a flower growing in the crack of a sidewalk, leaves falling, or clouds. I truly believe art and beauty are everywhere around us.
What would you do with $25,000?I would like to provide art opportunities for rural children and teens who are living in Arts deserts. "Arts deserts" exist in areas, particularly those with high deprivation or poverty, where residents face significantly reduced access to arts education, cultural venues, and creative opportunities. This "entitlement gap" means children in these communities miss out on essential personal, social, and developmental benefits
