My favourite medium is ceramics, but I have also began to find a love for printmaking where I have been exploring cyanotype. In my ceramics practice I do both hand building and throwing on the wheel and have become very involved in my pottery community.
Where do you find inspiration?I find a lot of inspiration through my ceramics practice. The environment I learned in really strived for functional perfection, which is still something I strive for in my practice, although I have also found beauty in each individual imperfect piece along the way. I have decided to focus imperfection as a subject in some of my work, deliberately making forms dysfunctional or very unique. I have also been exploring childhood nostalgia and gift giving in my macrame sculptures.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would help me achieve my lifelong dream. Going into my last year of university in the fine arts program, I have been figuring out where to go afterwards. My dream is to do my masters specializing in ceramics, and open my own studio. The school I want to go to is quite a distance away so I have been saving for a new car as mine has been having consistent problems and would be unreliable for this trip. $25,000 would not only help with my supply fees and student loans, but my dream too.
