I love to create art that requires the viewer to take a second look at the world around them and maybe find something to smile about.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Working across Scratchbord, acrylic, oil, colored pencil, and charcoal mediums, my art leans on texture, contrast, and emotional weight. I’m drawn to the small things — the overlooked corners, the simple objects, the moments most people pass by. My goal is simple: to make someone pause.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration shows up for me in ordinary places — the kind of moments that don’t announce themselves but linger if you pay attention. Light and a shadow across a tabletop. Sometimes a vision will come to me from a song, a nostalgic thought memory, a humorous story, a familiar object seen in a new perspective… those sparks are what keep me making art.
What would you do with $25,000?I would like to contribute to the art community in my area by offering classes or gatherings to inspire people to tap into the unknown artist in themselves. I would also like to make my art more available by creating more original work and offering prints.
