I create art to bring community together. With creating press ons and other pieces, I wish to use art to become a clinical anaplastologist.

Painting is a way that allows me to distract myself from reality, through painting on canvas, to press on nails it allows me to connect with individuals. With my press on business, @Press Ons by Jimena on Instagram, it allows me to create beautiful, detailed pieces of art within each nail. With the business, I've been able to help over 50+ young girls and women with creating affordable, reusable press ons ranging from here in Nebraska, Kansas, California, and Hawaii.
Where do you find inspiration?Through my family, being a Hispanic I've learned beautiful, vital things from my parents that I incorporate into my art. Through my parents childhood to them today, they've taught me and my sisters to "Échale ganas" meaning to give it your all. With those two words, I give it my all in every press on set, every commission, and every project to be the best possible version of myself, while recognizing to not take things for granted.
What would you do with $25,000?I'm a first year student at Creighton University working off campus and commuting to college to afford my tuition payments. With the money, I would be able to ease the financial burden of me and my family, while dedicating/ investing money in my press on business. As well, being a student in Art and Exercise Science, I can fund a workshop with my art scholar cohort at Siena Francis House in Omaha to make press ons for the Women and Men in order to have a reusable set of press ons !
