JL Rayne

I create art to tap into my childhood self. It’s my favorite way to connect with God that is personal to me. I feel free and without worry.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love to create mixed media pieces using wet/dry supplies that create a complex variety of texture and color transitions. I typically enjoy creating work from nature for the sake of enjoying its beauty or more personal prices from my imagination.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in everything around me. From patterns to colors or even sweet experiences that I want to relive over and over. I create work to not only work through my own emotions but to inspire others as well.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would use this money to retire my mother and find ways to give back to my community. As a veteran myself, I would first contribute to ending veteran suicide.
