I love portrait so much because I find it very unique. And the story telling beautifully seen through their emotion or just the eyes.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Classical art interest me the most because of technique and precision. It’s where most art stem from and think it’s very important to learn the base of it all. Then taking all you’ve learned from the masters to create something of your own. I have carried this passion of portraiture my whole life. I plan to master and expand this passion by applying my skill towards tattooing. Specializing in black and grey realism.
Where do you find inspiration?I find most of my inspiration through peers and the artist before me. Rembrandt is a phenomenal portrait artist and great to study from. Frida kahlo pieces are so symbolic and creative. It inspires me to create these deep meaningful, thoughtful pieces. Most of the work I have to show are classical portrait work. I’m hoping with this cash prize I could retire from my two jobs and focus on building myself as an artist and kicking off my career.
What would you do with $25,000?I have been saving as much as I can to put it towards my own tattoo shop in the future. I would most likely put the money aside and save it for my future plans. Also use some of the money to go to art school.
