I rediscovered art during a difficult time in my life. It gave me a sense of purpose that I was lacking. 15 yrs later, I love it even more.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create abstract art that is richly layered and full of depth and history. I vary between colorful and bold and more coastal and earthy tones. One common thread is each painting is like a moment in time in my life or even a chapter of my story. Acrylic is my main medium but I also play with collage, oil and cold wax and occasionally watercolors.
Where do you find inspiration?Memories, experiences, everything can infuse inspiration into my art, but the main thing is to be open to it. The other side of the coin is that to continue showing up even when you may be less than inspired to do so. We can't wait to create until all the stars align as it may be the slightest glimmer that will lead us to a new awakening.
What would you do with $25,000?I'd live to expand my studio to be able to paint larger and possibly host art retreats in my studio. Also, I'd live to travel to Greece for a bit of "research and development"! 😎
