I love the vibrant book arts of the Medieval period and want to re-invigorate great texts with that beauty and imagination

Traditional manuscript art, but especially the early insular style found in the Book of Kells and the Lindisfarne Gospels. This style most informs my illuminated manuscript art, and I have used it for several illuminated books like the Gospels, Beowulf, and Arthurian tales for children.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the whimsical and vibrant medieval illuminated texts, and in figures like William Morris who applied these medieval aesthetic and craft principles to reinvigorate the book arts and private press projects of the 19th and early 20th century.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it for a new large family fan; we have ten children and an old, beat up Ford van that could definitely stand to be upgraded.
