If I didn't, it would feel like I must scream but have no mouth.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I used to refer to them as video art pieces, but I have heard it described as experimental filmmaking or even art films; an artist I respect recently called one a "cinematographic poem," which I found both suitable and extremely flattering. Some of the pieces are designed to play infinitely, with the person trapped in a moment.
Where do you find inspiration?A lot of nightmares, past mistakes, and things that haunt me to a certain extent, along with anything that I feel a need to communicate that I don't see being said very often, if at all.
What would you do with $25,000?Make more art. There are a few pieces I already have on the back burner that I'd love to have started working on yesterday, but trying to justify more spending on them (even though I imagine they'd cost very little to produce) while also being in debt is a difficult pill to shove down my family's throat. The funny thing is, the money itself would be wonderful, but the validation from winning would be even greater; give the money to someone else, I want opportunity.
