Creating art is the purest form of expression. It can be someone loving to paint, to dance, to write or in my case to sculpt.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite art to build is sculpture. I rotate building one traditional piece like a form of a pot and the next project will be a contemporary piece. Looking at both styles of my work you’re going to see the sculptural influence.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration comes to me from a variety of areas. A form of daydreaming is important, it helps me visualize pieces that are an original new idea. Music is a good source for me as well, it inspires the project when I start building to the end. History of past artists and their path is also an inspiration especially the time period that they lived in.
What would you do with $25,000?In all honesty being married to an artist can be challenging so the family deserves a real trip. With the remainder which would be about 15,000 I will invest into a bigger kiln. I’ve always had a limitation on what I could build with my sculpture and it’s been the size of my kiln . People say size doesn’t matter but in the sculpture world it does. Bigger is better and thats the direction I would like to head into.
