Any artistic endeavor allows my mind to separate itself from the banalities of existence and reach into a space of unique possibilities ?

Figurative acrylic paintings. But primarily because paintings are flat and easy to store. By trade im a designer and a builder of landscapes and homes.
Where do you find inspiration? From the work. Providence is an equal partner. I supply the techniques and controls and let the work direct the outcome. Rarely do i go into a piece with an idea. I go into each piece to enjoy the process and the solitude with an open pallete. However, I would be remiss not to say that my work is a reflection of my many experiences with all the usual suspects: tragedy, love, hope and forgiveness.
What would you do with $25,000?Money is not something I care about when it comes to my artistic endeavors. I have been fortunate as an educator and in my many mini businesses to have enough to pay the bills. I would be open to suggestions. The best would be to have it make a difference in your efforts with this program. As a big fan and sharing the same first name (although mine 'ie' not 'y') i thought this would be a kick. johnnie ssen
