I create to explore the process, I chose subject matter that takes me away from my objective first impression and takes me into creativity

I like to create expressive art that is created in one session. I work quickly and efficiently, often focusing more on my perspective of the subject matter than the finished product. This keeps me from getting too tight and often produces a gestural, loose and emotionally charged piece.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in painting mundane objects like florals or fruit and letting the painting give it life. I also get creative energy from approaching subject matter around my culture and history, often around the past topics that are not talked about much.
What would you do with $25,000?I would be able to create a much bigger body of work that lets me explore the the melanated (or Black) peoples past here in the America's before Western civilization settled here.
