Creating art is what my soul was intended to do. I feel as one with my subject when I am creating it. If I can’t paint, my heart will break.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Wildlife art. I grew up in the wildness of the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada, and now live in the interior of the same province. so creating art of that genre is very dear to my heart. I especially take pride in the detail. I strive for realism in my work, so the very fine detail work is my favourite part.
Where do you find inspiration?I live very rural, in a cabin the wilds of the West Kootenays of British Columbia. We have every animal from grizzly and wolves, moose and all the species of deer and so many types of birds. I just have to look out my window and gain inspiration. I am also an avid mountain hiker and hunter, so on my journeys into places where humans rarely if ever have set foot, I gain a lot of reference materials for paintings. I also get to know the animals intimately from seeing them in their natural habitat.
What would you do with $25,000?I would build my own REAL art studio on my property. Moving my current studio out of my living room.
