I love to build relationships, and art is an amazing vehicle for introduction and later, in depth when engaging with other audiences.

I am a photographer who practices traditional photojournalism as well as in-depth documentary photography, portraiture, and large-scale arts initiatives that benefit both institutional partners and the communities with which I collaborate. Bearing witness is an act of love. I make photographs for the moments and stories that demand to be remembered.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the beauties of the natural world. Of those beauties, are its people, their varied existences, and their stories. I imbue my work with the spirit of all whom I have met and try to honor how these encounters push forward my next project or adventure.
What would you do with $25,000?Invest it directly back into my community. I'm in the middle of several long-term documentary projects rooted in Louisville — work that doesn't have obvious commercial value but that I believe matters deeply. This money would buy time. Time to finish stories that deserve to be finished, to print and exhibit work that deserves to be seen, and to keep showing up for the communities that have trusted me with their cameras pointed at them.
