I create art because it is the way in which I feel the most at home, where I can express myself and hopefully, where I can inspire others.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is art which embodies part of my soul. As someone who’s extremely insecure, though passionate, art is a method for me to explore avenues of what it means to be who I am. The art which I love to create is art that represents who I am, and can be a view into who I am as a person.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the people in my life. My friends, my family, my girlfriend. The people I love, and the life I lead and have led influence my art greatly. I’m also quite fond of philosophy, and literature which tends to seep its aesthetics into whatever piece I may be working on.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to help pay for my tuition, to help me as I attempt to tackle the obstacles in front of my dreams of entering an ivy league school for industrial design. I would also use it to give some solace and peace of mind to my mother and father who have fought so hard to give me the opportunities I have today. And finally I would use it to be with my girlfriend, who I love dearly yet am separated due to physical distance.
