I create art to hold up mirrors to reality distorted, vivid and true. Creating lets me reflect hidden truths, emotions, and dreams

My favorite art is expressive painting that lives between abstraction and figuration. I layer bold vibrant colors with intuitive marks, creating swirling forms, fragmented faces, and surreal scenes that feel like dreams blending into waking life. Each piece becomes a portal, whether chaotic energy in yellows and reds or quiet reflections in blues and earth tones. I work intuitively on canvas, letting the paint guide me toward something honest and alive.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration finds me everywhere, especially in the strands between inner and outer worlds. I draw from dreams, fleeting memories, and the emotional undercurrents of daily life conversations with strangers, shifting city lights, the way light hits water, or the expressions people wear when they think no one’s watching. Nature plays a huge role too: turbulent skies, tangled foliage, and the ocean’s endless movement. Music, poetry, and the raw energy of people around me fuel it all.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I’d first invest in a proper studio space to create larger-scale works without limits. I’d upgrade materials, experiment with new mediums, and dedicate time to a major body of work exploring “mirrors of reality.”
