Creating helps me understand who I am through the world around me. It’s the only form of expression I find myself being fully honest.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite art to create is painting. Lately I have been putting a lot of time and energy into dot work. I feel most free tapping away at a canvas with paint pens. I find myself expressing myself best in the repetition of dots. I love falling into a rhythm where I lose grasp of reality and enter a world I’ve created with the movement of fine dots.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in life experiences. In reflecting on decisions I make and why I make them. I get inspired by having an outlet with painting and drawing. I look forward to the time I spend creating like I looked forward to recess as a child. I also get inspired when I think about how grateful I am for all my loved ones and their support.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the money for a studio space and materials that I would use for my art. I would also use the money to help my family who I don’t get to see very often since they live across the country from me. I would be forever grateful for the money because it would contribute to the world building and vision I’ve seen come to life through my art.
