Stories, particularly novels. Good fiction is a true story that never happened. Writing meaningful stories has been the central passion of my life. Making a living that way is my oldest dream.
Where do you find inspiration?I live in a house on windy hill. Sometimes the gusts knock open the door and spirits get inside. Usually I can shoo them away in a day or so, but sometimes, one hangs around. I'll go for a snack at night and see a specter out the corner of my eye, before it skitters away in the dark. That's when I know it means to stay. I don't have much room, but I've got shelf-space. So I find the spirit, sit it down, and write its story. Then it can live on the shelves with the rest and I get my house back.
What would you do with $25,000?I'll use it to pay lawyers to fight my vindictive ex-wife. Given that this is Johnny Depp's thing, I understand if you think I'm joking. I am not.
