These mosaics allow me to connect with my father, grandfather, and community. My art is for those with passion, capturing meaning in stone.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Custom mosaic art is my favorite type of art to make. I learned how to make mosaics from my father and my grandfather. My grandfather immigrated to the US from Buenos Aires in the 1950s, and I especially love making mosaics that let me honor our family legacy and story .
Where do you find inspiration? My family, the city, other artists (of all mediums), and in nature. The LA River. Burbank, where I grew up. My friends and the people I work with. I get new inspiration all the time, for every project. I think the LA series of places here in Los Angeles is going to my life's work.
What would you do with $25,000?I would reinvest in my art, help out some of my family, and put some into savings for my sons. There are mosaic artists all over the world I would love to work with, and my pops and I have glass studios we want to visit in China. My team and I design and fabricate everything in Los Angeles, and with $25,000 my studio could put even more back into the local art community .
