My first love is to paint portraits, watercolors on paper. The soul pouring from their eyes, their expression, years worth of pain and joy expressed through the lines and form of the face. A successful portrait would speak directly to the viewer through no constructs of time, but through eternal feeling .
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere the eye can see, and the soul can imagine. I have visions at night of whole compositions before me, arrayed in their splendor , waiting for the right time for me to affix the concept to my heart and start the process of creation.
What would you do with $25,000?If I won the prize money, I would frame my work and buy materials then take the California Zephyr train across the country to see America, the truer America, the hidden gems of America , tucked into every groove, then emerge to find newer, truer ,enlightenment.
