I love to create because each time I end up with something that feels almost like a fingerprint yet I can do it infinitely and have new art.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create impressionist art inspired by rhythm and trance states while pushing the boundaries of visual language - making what feels new. I particularly love large scale paintings at the moment. The possibilities to show texture, reflecting light and matte surfaces on the same piece, it’s something that cannot be achieved through graphic design or art prints. I have an interest in evoking emotion and discomfort and exposing the zietgiest without being too on the nose.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in old movies and then my personal life experiences that ultimately create the unique lens that I have. I love the concept of “romanizing your life”, a lot of ideas come from that: turning life events into larger than life fantasies and hero’s journeys.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I would either rent studio spaces to take better photos of my work, or purchase the perfect backdrop to take photos in my home. I would be able to do more large scale work and buy custom frames for them because I currently love how my work looks in metal frames under glass. I would be able to rent out my dream venue to put on my first solo show that I’ve been planning for quite some time. More and paint and brushes!
