I create art as a bridge into people’s stories—it’s deeply personal, and I’m grateful my gift lets me connect.

My favourite art to create is on canvas in my signature style. I like canvas because I can add all the little details, and for the viewer it takes time to take it all in. It creates a quiet moment of appreciation and pulls them out of reality into my work. It’s almost like a game, finding all the small details, and that’s one of my favourite parts of creating art.
Where do you find inspiration? My artist style stems from legends like Keith Haring, with his simplistic line art that merges into one full piece, and more modern artists like Timothy Goodman with his playful typography and doodle style. That bold, high-contrast look has always appealed to me. My number one inspiration is stories—I love creating art about other people and what their lives have entailed, from balance to chaos. A lot of my ideas come from personal experiences, people I’ve met, and the stories I’ve been told.
What would you do with $25,000?This is something I’ve always dreamed about. I love creating free art, but it comes with a cost. With $25,000, I’d start a series where I interview people in their daily lives in exchange for free art. I did this in NYC for two days, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Not everyone can afford a $2,000 painting, but many can appreciate it—and it would be nice to give them something to own and connect with.
