I love creating art that illustrates a space, place or person. I try to capture a sense of realism while maintaining a painterly style

Portraits, both of people and animals. I was always drawn to old illustrations in storybooks and comic books. I try to capture a sense of realism while adding my own artistic style.
Where do you find inspiration?I have always enjoyed fairy tales and myths and legends. I have a large collection of vintage storybooks and would often get lost in the pages of each book. Old master illustrators like Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac and Maxfield Parrish have also been a big inspiration. The animated films of classic Disney and the artists who worked behind the scenes to design the characters and bring them to life. Comic books have also played a role in my love of art, and anything that has a sense of whimsy
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest more time into my art and use it as a resource to give back to surrounding art communities and nonprofits. Having had the pleasure of working for an art gallery and education center, I know how vital it is for people to have an outlet to express their talents and feel supported, especially in undeserved communities. Additionally, I would pay down my student loans that were used to go to college to study art. Finally, give to my loved ones who have been my biggest support system.
