I found art when everything felt empty and pointless, it gave me something to hold onto, and somehow, it saved me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I’m drawn to raw, emotional work, pieces that feel like they’ve been pulled from somewhere hidden. I like to explore contrast: darkness and light, tension and release. I’m most connected to art that feels honest and a little uncomfortable, something that invites people to look inward, not just observe, canvas is the medium to get those emotions across.
Where do you find inspiration? In the quiet, in solitude, and in moments most people try to avoid. I’m inspired by emotional extremes, memory, music, and the tension between who we are and who we pretend to be. It’s less about external beauty and more about truth.
What would you do with $25,000?As an emerging artist currently balancing a full-time job, I would use the $25,000 to take a more formal and committed step toward pursuing art professionally. It would give me the stability to dedicate more time to developing my practice, investing in materials and studio space, and exploring exhibition and collaboration opportunities. Ultimately, it would help me transition from a part-time practice into a sustainable and focused creative career.
