I create art to share how it’s helped me heal my wounds of war, it helps me bring hope & happiness to the lives of others. Art = medicine
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating art that will help someone have a better day, impacting them in a positive way.I made my fist 2 art pieces in memory of my best friend who was killed in battle while we were deployed. Once completed I drove those pieces 18 hours & hand delivered them to his Mom & Dad.In that moment of putting the art in their hands I learned the most valuable transaction is LOVE.His father then asked me to make him a promise to never stop making my art. This is year 6 going on 7
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration within me, at the same time all around me.Art found me after war I had to learn from within in this incredibly personal journey as to where my artistic inspiration comes from. With that came to understanding that it came from a very deep wound within my heart from war that I could channel sorrow or sadness into happiness now by creating without hesitation from whatever gives me inspiration.Music, family, friends community & good vibes are a solid recipe for creation.
What would you do with $25,000?I would continue my dream to help give hope to the hopeless and be a voice for the voiceless through my art and designs. We lose an estimated 8,000+ veterans a year to suicide. Art helped & taught me in ways traditional medicines could not. “It is never too late to be what you might have become.” Understanding how true it is that broken crayons still color.
