I create art to turn memories into something tangible—fragments of my past, my culture, and my journey.

My favorite art combines upholstery fabric and acrylic paint to build layered compositions inspired by landscapes of Mexico—forests, deserts, prairies, and oceans. I transform leftover materials from my furniture work into textured, abstract pieces. This process connects my past in a small workshop to my present as an artist, creating a language between craftsmanship and fine art.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the colors and landscapes of Mexico, in memories of my childhood working in my father’s furniture shop, and in the materials I use every day. Fabric fragments carry history, and through them I recreate places, emotions, and moments from my homeland. Distance has made these memories stronger, and they guide every piece I create.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest in expanding my studio, purchasing materials, and developing a larger body of work for exhibitions. I would also create a professional portfolio and showcase my series “Fragments of My Land” in galleries. This support would allow me to grow my practice, reach a wider audience, and continue telling my story through art.
