I love working with different mediums. I use house paint, acrylic paints and found objects to embellish my work. I seek to create art that makes people look within. I want to express my love for all that is tangible in life, but also the parts of life that remain a mystery. I embrace imperfections in my art and put aside the need to impress with skill, but rather to invoke inspiration through raw imagery, and symbolism.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the spiritual realm, life’s hardships and the victory within our resilience. I am inspired by the perseverance of the spirit and the innocence of the inner child. I am fascinated by the concept of spirituality and how it presents itself in our everyday life. Sadness, joy, struggle, and the overall human experience, inspire me to create, not only for myself, but for others. Sharing art with others is my biggest inspiration.
What would you do with $25,000?If I were awarded the $25,000, I would use it to create a dedicated studio space where I can fully focus on making art. Packing up daily interrupts my process, so having a place to leave work in progress would help me grow and take creative risks. I would also use the space to exhibit my work and other artists’ work, and host creative meetups that build community and shared inspiration.
