It helps me process the world in these tumultuous times. My practice is a reflection and a refraction of our collective consciousness.

Collage aligns with my aesthetic and conceptual sensibility. The capacity to juxtapose info and create various possibilities are something I thrive upon. I lean on the short format of magazine pages to inform my decision making. Editing, taking informational snippets create a synthesis depicted by these “four letter words”. The slippery meaning of these phrases coupled with architectural-influenced fonts forms a way of communicating which emphasizes word play in image form.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the work. The process of generating ideas and responding to what is going on in the world drives my practice. Fleeting phrases are recorded to be revisited and edited based on its lingering or haunting effect. Formally, DIY protest posters from the latest events tend to draw my attention. The immediacy and cleverness in which information is articulated lends itself to be efficient, economical and direct. Hence, I find it exhilarating to make and march with these signs.
What would you do with $25,000?2/3 of the proceeds will be used to scale up my production. This will include studio space and equipment to silk screen new signs for mass production. This will lead to 1/3 going to an educational component. I will collaborate with local schools and art organizations to develop a curriculum and workshops in which they are creating their own posters while trying to find their own voice. This multi generational movement will provide paths in which we can all traverse in the near future.
