I create art to distill my ongoing thoughts into an instant.

My favorite type of art to create is painting in all its varieties - oils, watercolors, gouache, very large and miniature. I also love sculpting, especially welded-metal sculpture and sculpture that utilizes repurposed objects, molded soap-making, digital and vector art, printmaking, animation and drawing. However, painting remains my first love.
Where do you find inspiration? My principal inspiration comes from books, and in particular the fanciful visuals evoked by reading. I am especially steeped in history, through reading and previous work experience, and my latest artistic stabs are in the direction of traditional history painting, though rendered in a more free and abstract form than the conventional realism that attends that genre. I am also inspired by my immediate surroundings. So, I seek to fuse outscapes and inscapes to tell a story.
What would you do with $25,000?The third-to-oldest thing - save the family farm.
