Love seems a little understated. I have to create the art, or it’ll kill me. Before it was for others, now it’s for me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!

Receive Text UpdatesI really love to paint with oil, pastel, make my own spray paints, and work in a big studio, with tons of big canvases ready to go. I get all the elements together and find those perfect songs to ignite the way. A couple of cocktails and other stuff, and boom. It flows. Right on out. Everything that I'm feeling and inspired to scream floods to the surface. And it's almost as if aliens have taken over when I come to. I find all of these new, wonderful textures and colors staring up at me.
Where do you find inspiration?Everything. Film mostly. I'm a film school brat, that's what brought me to Hollywood. But Hollywood brought the art right out of me. It's so awful, and terrible, and wonderful, and gross, and beautiful. There is something weird and magical about this space. This land. California maybe. But Hollywood specifically. I can paint only what I can paint. Meaning I'll never be photorealistic, fine-stroke, super thought-out. Not that I don't plan what I'm about to unleash. At heart, I'm a purist.
What would you do with $25,000?Buy some time to make some biiiiiiiiig pieces. like big. I want huge canvases. They're just so $$$$. If I had that covered and a couple months to just unleash the beast, I would get so much done. It would be a wow moment for all.
