Art lets you control something in a world that feels unpredictable, while helping you discover new parts of yourself
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is expressive, abstract figurative work that focuses on emotion and meaning rather than realism. I don't focus on making things perfect or realistic, instead I allow the piece to evolve naturally and intuitively. This style shows that art doesn't have strict guidelines and there's no "right" way to create. By breaking away from traditional expectations and realism, I'm able to express myself freely and create work that feels unique and open to interpretation.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration builds off of my own thoughts, emotions and everyday experiences rather than something i'm directly looking at. Sometimes I'm influenced by nature, someone's facial expression, music or a certain conversation that lingered in my head. For me, inspiration isn't something I have to search for, it's something that comes naturally from being aware of myself and my surroundings and then translating that into something creative and meaningful.
What would you do with $25,000?If I had $25,000, I would use it by balancing my future, passions and giving back. I'd save a large portion for traveling, art and other things for my future since I still have my whole life ahead of me. It's important to me that I support my family so I would gift part of it to them. Also, I feel strongly towards the environment and animals so I would donate to charities that provide protection to them. Overall, I would use the money in a way that reflects growth, purpose and compassion.
