I am 82, I paint everyday. I like to create my art as a reflection of who I am. I find painting is like meditation and mindfulness!!
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
ACRYLIC allows me the freedom to change as I go along…whereas when i paint with watercolor…i feel there must be more control and definite strokes. The ‘surprises’ I get in watercolor are those happy mistakes… I also like the freedom and looseness afforded when i decide to use more water. Every canvas or paper is a surprise and a learning experience for me.!!!
Where do you find inspiration?IN PEOPLE, IN TRAVEL, AND IN THE WONDERFUL COLORS OF NATURE. My inspiration comes from the beauty in this world. From the visual and the emotional. The poetry in art and the innate depth of my soul…I always wanted to paint…but didn’t know I could…until…like many people, I had the time. Now I use my time…to give my self the GIFT of time to create. Some days are better than others…but each attempt is an exercise in itself to learn.
What would you do with $25,000?I WOULD HAVE A GALLERY SHOW WITH SOME OF THE WONDERFUL ARTIST’S WITH WHOM I PAINT. THERE IS SO MUCH TALENT OUT THERE!!
