The flow of paint off of my paintbrush are like whispers from my soul. Connection, strength, energy, community and compassion show themselves as forms from our natural world which may be somewhat abstracted, or expressionistic with the elements of the surreal.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration happens while dreaming, or taking a walk and seeing interesting shapes that cause a light within me. I’m inspired by the contrasts of dark and light, the beauty of forms from soft and sensuous to strong and loud. Trees are sensuous and strong as the wind can blow hard and strong. Shape and form, thick lines that taper to thin fluid ones, contrasting colors and those that live in their families.
What would you do with $25,000?I would love to be able to expand to a larger work area so that I can experiment more on my own work and then set up some experiences for people who would find joy in being able to expand their vibrations of self through the art of creation…..working within community. I was an art teacher in the public school system and I have seen how much joy children as well as adults being able to express themselves and have a positive and joyful time.
