I create art to connect with others visually or with words, in hopes to bring them a bit of joy, which in turn, brings me much joy!

I love creating my hand-painted , hand-torn collage on canvas or watercolor paper. It’s like putting together a puzzle. I usually create flowers in pots and give each flower a name like “Joan”, “Tim”, etc. and they are doing people activities such as preparing for tonight’s “Sting” concert or dancing the cha-cha. Naming them helps me connect more to my piece and brings a sense of humor. I also love painting my whimsical dogs, my quirky women & meditative landscapes, which are usually of Montana.
Where do you find inspiration?Everyday life, paying attention to details like the cloud shapes in the sky, the bark on the tree, the clothing people wear, & the colors and patterns that surround me. I love texture.
What would you do with $25,000?I would love to travel to another country and create my art in a totally different environment. I also think it would be fun to offer a workshop in another country, such as hosting a mother- daughter workshop, grandfather-granddaughter, or they don’t have to be related, just have some sort of connection—whether a deep connection, or just a casual connection. A workshop where it mixes the ages, but brings them closer together by doing the workshop.
