I carve soap because I like to keep my hands busy and it keeps me calm and helps me out of my depression. I'm a widdler and love to carve.

For a long time, my creative voice lived in the density of lines—the intricate, psychedelic webs of hand-drawn typography where every stroke was an addition to the narrative. But recently, I have found myself drawn to the opposite frequency: the art of subtraction. Carving and sculpture have become my primary language because they demand a different kind of honesty.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from the everyday. I don’t have fancy materials, so I carve soap. It’s something everyone uses and understands. I’m inspired by the idea of leaving a little piece of art in a local bathroom just to make a stranger’s day. It’s about taking something simple and finding the form hidden inside. I don’t overthink it; I just follow the patterns I see and use my hands to turn a common object into a moment of connection for someone else.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d launch the "Hood Samaritan" project to put the "good" back in the hood. I want to put the homeless to work, paying them to clean up the community and take ownership of their own environment. It’s about reciprocity and dignity through labor. I’d also get the tools to move from carving soap to creating permanent public art that inspires hope. This isn't just a prize; it’s my destiny to show that when we value people and our streets, we can transform our community from the inside out.
