Direct painting saves my true being by connecting it to the earth under my feet, the light of the sun, or soul of the human in-front of me.

I paint in oil with full color palette. My paintings are representational in impressionist tradition. Portraits, still life, landscape. Nature and my surrounding offers millions of compositions and subjects right outside my door or inside the studio. I love figurative and portrait painting. The most exciting work for me always lies at the intersection of nuances of perceived light and interior psychology. This can be a human face or a tree, or a vase with a wilted rose in it....
Where do you find inspiration?I am most passionate about figurative and portrait art that combines direct observation of color nuances in particular light with emotional, psychologycal connection with my subject. I love painting still life and landscape which can also reflect emotion and interior psychology.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest into studio and teaching. I would like to teach painting in impressionists tradition with direct observation of the light.
