Creating art changed my life. My mom passed away when I was 3. I have stumbled through life since. My art is a very emotional process.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is dark art, fantasy art, and landscape (generally dead trees and graveyards). My work is mainly in acrylics. I love finding the emotion in it. I've had a lot of darkness in my life and painting helps me see the light. Even if only for brief moments.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my life experiences. I look around the world and see darkness and yet there is always that glimmer of hope. Even in death. I have done many paintings of graveyards that have helped others with the losses they've experienced in their lives as well. That is the most surprising thing I've found on this journey. I appreciate that so much. I thought I was alone in that.
What would you do with $25,000?Like so many artists I know, $25, 000 would change my life. I would use the money to help me get the equipment that I need to move forward in being a full time artist. Prints are very expensive as well and I could sure use the help there. Finally, I have been working on art/ writing for a book for over 10 years that I would love to finish.
